As you learn to work with energy through gentle, hands-on techniques, you’ll gain tools to support your body in returning to a natural state of balance. In the process, you will deepen your connection to your intuition. The quiet inner voice that knows what’s needed in each moment.
As you learn to hold space for yourself, you’ll also gain the ability to offer healing presence to friends, family, loved ones, plants & pets. Supporting their emotional well-being and helping them regulate through your grounded energy.
This course offers more than just information and a certificate. Usui Reiki Shoden Level 1 with Sacred Passage Healing provides a roadmap for guiding both yourself and others to a place of rest, resilience, and restoration. Skills that become anchors in everyday life & that you’ll carry with you long after the training ends.
✨ What Is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, yet powerful Japanese healing technique that uses light touch to guide the body back into a state of balance and safety. By activating the parasympathetic nervous system (the “rest and digest” mode), Reiki helps release stress, calm the mind, and restore emotional equilibrium. It’s a deeply restorative practice that supports physical, emotional, and energetic healing, and it’s something anyone can learn. You do not need to consider yourself “spiritual” or be born with a special “gift.”

♡ Having completed Usui Reiki Shoden – Level 1 certification, you’ve taken the first step toward becoming professionally qualified to offer Reiki services. The next step on this path is completing the Usui Reiki Okuden – Level 2 training (read more in the FAQ section below). To uphold integrity, I only certify students for Level 2 when I am confident they can maintain a stable container for the practice.
Pre-Requisites & Requirements:
⭐️ What You DO Need:
An open heart and a willingness to learn. Reiki isn’t something you have to get right, it’s something you experience. Curiosity, openness, and self-compassion are your greatest assets.
Commitment to attend the full day of the training. This is an immersive experience. Your presence for the full duration ensures you receive the full Attunement, teachings, and practice time essential to your certification and personal integration.
Accountability and a willingness to integrate what you learn. Learning Reiki is not just about receiving a certificate or title, it’s about building a lifelong relationship. To truly benefit, you will need to show up for yourself after the training, applying the tools and practices in your daily life as part of your self-care.
⭐️ What You DO NOT Need:
Any prior experience with energy work. Reiki Level 1 is designed for complete beginners. Whether this is your first step into the world of energy or part of a broader healing journey, you are welcome here. Everything will be taught from the ground up with clarity, care, and support.
Special equipment or tools. The most important instrument in Reiki is you. You’ll learn how to channel healing energy using your hands and your awareness—no external tools necessary. Reiki can be done with the recipient resting on a massage table, chair, bed, couch, yoga mat, or even laying down on the floor. Massage tables & chairs will be provided for use in the course.
A belief in any specific religion or dogma. Reiki is not affiliated with any religion and does not require belief in any particular spiritual system. It’s a universal practice rooted in energy, compassion, and connection. You are encouraged to explore your own spiritual beliefs and always be respectful of others.

Q: Will I be certified after this course?
You will receive a Reiki Level 1 Certification upon completion and you may register with the Canadian Reiki Association as a registered student/associate. Upon the six month anniversary of receiving your Level 1 Certificate, you may apply as a Canadian Reiki Association Registered Practitioner. However, in order to be granted a business license to practice reiki professionally (and volunteer in various organizations), you typically must also complete Level 2.
Q: Is there a test?
No written test—this is a hands-on, experiential course.
Q: Can I use Reiki on others after Level 1?
Yes, you’ll be able to practice Reiki on friends, family, pets and yourself. You will not be able to charge a fee for reiki sessions and practice professionally. The focus of Level 1 is is using reiki for self healing, creating a daily self care and spiritual practice with reiki, and practicing on friends, family & pets.
Q: What’s the next step after Level 1?
Reiki Level 2 is the natural progression and deepens your practice, opening the door to distance healing and practitioner-level training.
Before advancing to Level 2 (Usui Reiki Okuden), it’s important to spend time practicing, integrating, and embodying the foundational techniques you’ve learned. This deepens your connection and prepares you for more advanced professional work in Level 2.
At this time, I am currently only certifying Level 1. Level 2 will be coming soon in 2026 (date TBD). In order to uphold integrity, I will only certify students for Level 2 when I am confident they can maintain a stable container for the practice.
The training is not an ongoing mentorship program. However, I do host a monthly Reiki Share Practice Circle for Certified Reiki Practitioners from all lineages (you don’t have to be my student) that you can register to attend for continued practice, if you choose to do so.
A Reiki Share is a gathering where Reiki practitioners come together to give and receive Reiki in a supportive group setting. It’s a beautiful opportunity to practice your skills, build confidence, receive healing, and connect with a like-minded community.

Q: Will lunch be provided?
Light healthy snacks, water & tea will be provided. Lunch will not be provided. Please be advised there are no food options available nearby so you will need to bring your own prepared lunch and cutlery. Fridge and microwave are available.
Q: Will accommodation & transportation be provided?
Accommodation and transportation are not provided. The location is not near any major transit routes but there are a variety of hotels and accommodation nearby for those traveling from out of town. The location is very accessible by car — 25 minutes from Downtown Nanaimo / 20 minutes from Chemainus / 15 mins from Downtown Ladysmith. Onsite Parking is available. You will need transport to and from your accommodations and training each day.
